Privacy Policy

What this website collects, why, and who receives it.

Effective date: October 1, 2026

This policy covers laketownelectric.com, the website of Laketown Electric Co. ("LEC," "we," "us"). It explains what information the site collects when you visit, why, and who receives it. It does not cover other websites we link to.

What we collect when you visit

The site has no accounts or sign-in. When you browse it, two analytics services and our hosting provider receive information about your visit.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site. It records the pages you view, how you arrived (for example, from a search engine), your browser and device type, your approximate location based on your network address, and when you click one of our phone numbers or email addresses. Google Analytics uses cookies to recognize repeat visits. Google processes this information under its own privacy policy.

Lead Forensics

We use Lead Forensics to learn which businesses visit our site. It uses your network (IP) address to identify the company that network belongs to, along with the pages viewed during the visit. Its script also loads services from its partners, including LiveIntent and Demandbase, which may set cookies or similar identifiers and match the visit to business information. This service is aimed at companies, not individuals, but the information it receives about your visit is the same.

Our hosting provider

The site runs on Microsoft Azure. Like any web server, it receives your network address and browser details with each request so it can deliver pages and protect the service.

Contacting us and our forms

The contact form and the job application form on this site are currently turned off. The site collects no names, email addresses, or messages through forms today. If you call or email us, we receive what you choose to send and use it to respond to you.

When we turn the forms back on, we will update this page and its effective date first. As built, the forms ask for your name, email address, and message, plus optional phone, company, project type, or position. Each submission is stored in Microsoft Azure and sent by Microsoft 365 email to the LEC staff who handle that request: estimating, service, or hiring. To limit spam, the form uses a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your network address, which is kept for 24 hours and cannot be turned back into the address itself.

How we use information

  • To respond to your calls, emails, and requests
  • To understand which pages are useful and improve the site
  • To learn which businesses are interested in our work
  • To keep the site secure and working

Who receives it

We share information only with the service providers named on this page (Google, Lead Forensics and its partners, and Microsoft) and with the LEC staff who need it to do their jobs. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.

Cookies and your choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site still works without them. Google offers a browser add-on that stops Google Analytics from collecting your visits. Browser privacy features and content blockers can also stop the analytics scripts from loading.

How long we keep it

Google Analytics keeps detailed visit data for 14 months. After that, only summary reports remain. Lead Forensics keeps the information it collects under its own terms. We keep calls, emails, and messages you send us as long as we need them to respond to you and for our normal business records.

Your requests

To ask what information we hold about you, or to ask us to correct or delete it, call us at 952.442.2740 or write to Laketown Electric Co., 8470 State Highway 5, Waconia, MN 55387. We will respond within a reasonable time.

Children

This site is for businesses and job seekers. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

When what the site collects changes, we will update this page and the effective date at the top.
