About the Role

We are seeking a Lead Power-Limited Technician to run medium to large commercial low-voltage projects from start to finish.
Responsibilities include site pre-install walkthroughs, reading and labeling blueprints, installing cable pathways, and installing CAT6/6A, coax, fiber systems, building out telecommunication rooms, and troubleshooting existing systems, as well as lighting controls. Candidates must be able to manage projects independently and ensure quality work throughout all phases of a project. This will be an on-site position Monday-Friday 6:00AM to 2:30PM depending on job site needs.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 4-5+ years of low voltage experience installing cat6 and fiber optic systems in a commercial environment
  • PLT license (required)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • BICSI INST1, INSTC, INSTF (preferred)

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work in all elements depending on job location and time of year
  • Must be able to stand, sit, walk, kneel, stoop, or drive for long periods of time
  • Must physically be capable of lifting and carrying up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be comfortable with ladders, scissors lifts, and boom trucks

Training Provided on Hire:

  • TE350: BICSI TECH training/certification
  • Continuing education for BICSI certifications
  • PLT continuing education
  • Manufacture training

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, terminate, test and troubleshooting Cat6/6a, and fiber optics
  • Install lighting controls, structured cabling systems, Paging systems, and camera systems
  • Read/interpret large building blueprints and make changes when necessary
  • Label and certify installed systems for easy identification per provided plans
  • Build out new closets including cabinets, racks, ladder rack, and neatly installed cabling systems
  • Start and finish small to medium scale commercial buildings as a job lead
  • Mentor and train apprentices on the job as necessary
  • Walkthrough site with PM to determine best cabling routes and project needs
  • Install according to specifications and plans
  • Maintain the project schedule and stay on or under budget
