About the Role

Laketown Electric Corporation is seeking multiple positions for Electrical Apprentices to join our award-winning team and are currently accepting resumes for multiple 1-4 year Apprentice openings. We invest in our workforce and pay for the Minnesota Electrical Association’s 4-year apprenticeship program. It is our goal to make sure that every apprentice furthers their career through education and reaches their journeyman license for the betterment of themselves and the company.

What You’ll Bring

  • Valid MN Driver’s License
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must be willing to travel extensively to / from regional area job sites
  • Registered for Unlicensed Electricians License
  • Attend continuing education for position
  • Experience with hand and power tools
  • Ability to identify wire colors effectively
  • Gain experience in reading and interpreting electrical drawing and schematics
  • Interpret construction documents, specifications, verbal and written instructions
  • Work in restricted areas and possibly at heights
  • Learn how to bend conduit by hand and with hydraulic bending machines

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work in all elements depending on job location and time of year
  • Must be able to stand, sit, walk, kneel, stoop, or drive for long periods of time
  • Must physically be capable of lifting and carrying up to 75 lbs
  • Must be physically capable of manually digging and back-filling of holes and trenches

What You’ll do:

  • Installation of electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment
  • Measure, cut and bend conduit
  • Trace out short circuits in wiring
  • Make minor electrical repairs
  • Maintain tools and equipment
  • Work closely with Journeyman and Foreman electricians, and Project Managers
